Step-by-Step Guide to Cutting and Laying the Gym Flooring:

1. Safety first: Put on suitable work gloves to avoid cut injuries.
2. Choosing the right tool: a sharp carpet or utility knife and a guide rail.
3. The surface should be flat and even. In addition, you should use e.g. cardboard boxes to protect the floor.
4. Measure precisely and mark the area to be cut with chalk or lightly score it with the knife.
5. Place the guide rail and pull the knife firmly and without lifting it through the mat. The cut should be made in one motion and the applied pressure should be even. This process is repeated until the mat is completely cut through. Spread the mat apart bit by bit as you cut to reduce friction. If necessary, moisten the knife a little with soapy water to allow better gliding. Note, however, that the risk of slipping increases as a result.
6. Any gaps between the mats can simply be taped over with black tape, preventing the intrusion of dust and dirt.
